Tod Engine Parts

Stored in the former YS&T Plate Mill building in Girard, Ohio. August 29, 2000

Looking down the low pressure bed plate toward the crosshead and connecting rod. The LP cylinder lurks in the distance. In the rooms to the left are the "small" parts, plumbing and bolts and nuts.

Looking toward the crankshaft and HP bedplate in the right background. That's my 1988 Ford Ranger being dwarfed by the crankshaft. To the left is my 1978 Chevy service truck, another of Arnie's terrors!

Overhead view of the LP bedplate in the foreground and the HP bedplate in the background.

That's the LP cylinder in the left background, and one half of the flywheel in the center of the shot. The red object in the center is the LP sole plate upon which the LP cylinder rested. The pickup trucks give some perspective to the parts. Even after seeing this engine many times I still marvel at its sheer size!

High Pressure Cylinder. This 34" dia. cylinder almost looks to be the wrong scale when compared with the rest of the parts. Indeed, it is the smallest of the "large" parts.
