Tod Engine House Project
During 2008 we will be constructing a 44' x 60' prefabricated steel building to house the Tod Engine. This is the first phase of a three phase plan to construct our exhibit building at the Tod Engine Heritage Park. The building is being fabricated by Shenango Steel Buildings, Inc. in West Middlesex, PA with expected delivery sometime in early summer.
The building will be sheathed with corrugated steel siding and its design will be of the standard mill type, complete with overhead crane runways for our 1892 Morgan Crane. Our own volunteers will complete much of the construction work from construction of the footers to assembling the steelwork and sheating the finished building. When finished the engine house will provide a suitable indoor space for the restoration and eventual operation of the Tod Engine.
